A txt from Gaza

"Thanks for your support.. They bombed the central vegetable market in Gaza city two hours ago. 80 injured, 20 killed, it all came here to Shifa. Hades! We wade in death. Blood and amputees. Many children. Pregnant woman. I have never experienced anything so terrible. Now we hear tanks. Tell it, pass it on, shout it. Anything. DO SOMETHING! DO MORE! We're living in the history books now, all of us! Mads G, 3.1.09 13:50, Gaza, Palestine."

Mads Gilbert is a Norwegian doctor and solidarity worker. He is volunteering at a Gaza strip hospital.

Tell everyone you know.

Let your local and national politicians know how you feel and get the word out, get others to do the same. Boycott all Israeli goods and encourage others to do the same. What else? Ideas?

It may be of interest to you that Mr. Gilbert is a partisan observer who has long been active in Palestinian organizations in Norway. He is an active member of a revolutionary socialist party, and has also been vocal in his support for the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center.

1) Show me an observer who is not "partisan".

2) Dr. Gilbert has long been active in saving lives and limbs in a variety of war theatres. He even wrote a text book to teach others.

3) Rødt is not strictly speaking a revolutionary party, but OK, let's say it is. So what?

4) After 9-11 Dr. Gilbert expressed the following view: "If the US government has a legitimate right to bomb and kill civilians in Iraq, then the oppressed have a moral right to attack the USA with what weapons they may create. Dead civilians are the same, be they American, Palestinian or Iraqi."

When directly asked if he supported the 9-11 attacks, Dr. Gilbert replied: "Terror is a bad weapon, but within the context I have mentioned, the answer is yes."

5) Your sources are VG nett for Christ's sake. I can't take you seriously.

I think it is relevant for people to know that Mr. Gilbert is an extremist who is in Gaza with a clear political agenda.

Mr. Gilbert is actively supporting an organization which goal is the destruction of the Jewish people and that wants to implement an apartheid regime against its female population. Readers should be aware of this when seeing his comments from Gaza.

Hm. Who should I trust? Dr. Gilbert, an acknowledged emergency anesthesiologist and author of the textbook "Save Lives, Save Limbs - Life support for victims of mines, wars and accidents" who is actually in Gaza, or you, a sad person in a basement somewhere?

Lets not forget: a sad person in a basement somewhere who COPY-PASTES his replies, I now see, regardless of the actual content of rebuttals. Check out what he is saying in my SMS from Gaza post. I'll give you a hint: you've seen it before. Classic astroturfing concern troll.

Yeah, I saw it. They can't even give a guy credit when he's up to his elbows in blood.

Notice how Dr. Gilbert becomes "Mr. Gilbert", because those are evil Muslim apartheid babies he's patching up, so how can he be a real doctor?

Oh, right. I didn't even notice that.

On a different note: While I'm proud we have people like Gilbert and Fosse down there fighting the good fight, it also saddens me how they've been cast in the media as somehow more reliable witnesses than the 1.5 million Palestinians who don't exist in the eyes of the world.

Palestinians... but they elected Hamas. And Hamas are muslim islamofascist communist antisemite mass murderers. How can you trust a mass murderer? Are you saying you like mass murder?

Within the context I have mentioned, the answer is yes.

Perhaps they were trying to fight fire with fire. Being the target of a genocidal landgrab can't be a whole lot of fun.

Within the context I have mentioned, Rnewman, I was being ironic. Wink wink.
