My Grandpa was sent to clean up an airbaseafter the Americans had left after WW2, and in 1948. My Nana flew up to join him when my mother was one week old, and the tiny plane had to crashland in the thick jungle and lost both wings, but nobody were hurt. I think they lived there for two years.

it goes something like this ...

i was walking through a parking garage in the middle of the 113f (45c) nevada desert with the sound system blaring a-ha's "take on me."

kinda funny. kinda weird.

then on the way out, the car next to me was pounding out the same song.

now i'm not a strange guy who believes god *usually* talks to him, but i do know signs when they're right in front of my face.

for the rest of my life a-ha will remind me of "norway is your pal" week, and that, in turn, will always always remind me of the acres. and of course, twice in one day means i have to communicate.

just wanted to check in, say "hi." i'm about a year behind on reading you guys, which i understand, is some kind of constitutional violation -- don't take it personally. if memory serves, you should be close to sara's b-day and i've been away for so long that i know NOTHING about your newest addition. hope all's well and the mikkel hasn't managed to grind his teeth down to the gums.

i fully admit that i'm not covering the territorial coast the way i should, but this is merely temporary -- i'm not dead, just resting. b1-66er will be back in less time that i've been away.

naturally, i can't leave you without a haiku (which i haven't written in, maybe, half a year[!])

when all seems confused
set your bearing to the north
focus on finnmark

Hey b-1, good to hear from you. It was my b-day june 22nd. Thanks for the haiku, it seems we've been rather short on haikus lately.
